March 2026

During March, and previous months, there had been a lot of discussion about a glass commission in Galway. I had been expecting that the existing glass would be removed by a glazier and I could have used those shapes to make the new glass. That couldn't be organised. Here is what the original window looked like. Full of exciting angles.

18th April 2026

It was the first time I had held a one day course, having held weekend courses for years. I taught participants copper foil stained glass with a small diversion into fusing. And was met with great enthusiasm. From myself and the course participants. Everyone seemed satisfied, which is what you need!!

22nd April 2026

Another first for me. Not that I've never done it before, just not recently.

I held a very short evening copper foil stained glass taster session for Parke Community Hall group. That was intense, but we managed to get a cup of tea in there as well!

23rd April 2026

A trip to Galway to almost finish a big piece of leaded glass (10 separate bits).

This has been a long time on the table waiting for a glazier sufficiently skilled to not only take out the existing glass, which had been in for about 100 years, but also to install the new stained glass.

No glazier was found. Or rather, none was found with the right skills.

So the client and I set to and did it ourselves. Wonderfull Roso!

A weekend stained glass course, although it was on Sunday/Monday.

A great group, interested and enthusiastic and fast learners. What more could I want?

The group included 2 separate people who want to make their own BIG (one is approx 1.20m x .6m) panels. So they are currently learning the skills they need and then they will come back for other weekends to make both fused and stained glass parts until they complete their projects.

All very exciting.

6th May 2026

Another evening taster stained glass course for different ladies from Parke Community Hall. No time for tea but some impressive skills emerging and good reminiscing about horse riding days!
